		<description>music has always been my favorite sleep inducer.  instead of going to bed witht the tv on, i like to head to sleep with my ipod and a nice mix of relaxing songs.  

some of my favorite night time tunes include songs by Explosions in the Sky and Annuals.</description>

		<description>Great points, Eva, esp. about the caffeine and sugar. Most people don&#039;t realize how much these effect their sleep, especially sugar. And for some people, caffeine even in the early afternoon throws off their circadian rhythm. 

I have to agree with Megan, though, in extreme cases. I&#039;ve been lucky enough to only have occasional bouts of insomnia, the last one in which I pulled out my holistic box o&#039; goodies: meditation, visualization, ear plugs, eye mask, breathing exercises, eating a banana (potassium calms the body and for me, the blood sugar drop can easily lead to sleep), massage, acupressure, valerian root. Nada. After three nights of this, I had to go the Tylenol PM route. I just had to.</description>

		<description>I agree with all of your tips, except the last one.  When I lost my job at the end of the year, I lost my ability to fall asleep.  Sleeping was never a problem with me prior to this huge stress inducer.  After speaking with my doctor, she suggested benadryls to help in the mean time.  For me, it helps, allowing me to not be overly stressed or tired in the morning.  It may not be for you, but it is for me.</description>

		<description>Solid advice here.  The franticness of modern society can rob us of peaceful, energizing, balancing sleep if we&#039;re not careful.  I recommend getting some exercise through walking, yoga or, um, bedroom partner yoga, before sleep.   </description>
